Recently, Gary Green met with Jeannie Wray, Executive Director for Room At The Inn to present a check for $5,000 from the Harvard Business School Club of Charlotte.
Room at the Inn is a safe haven and source of hope for pregnant mothers and their children. Invoking a Christ-centered approach inspired by the examples of Mary and Joseph, Room at the Inn helps young families move toward a new life of hopeful, independent, and healthy living and educates the broader community on the importance of fostering a culture of life. The MDP Program Instructors nominated 16 deserving non-profits, many of which they are personally involved with as a volunteer, a donor, or a board member. The Instructors then voted to select 8 non-profits to receive $5,000 each. The Management Development Program allows mid-career executives to hone their decision making skills while discussing case studies in accounting, marketing, finance, operations, organizational behavior, leadership, and ethics. Volunteer Charlotte-based alumni of the Harvard Business School teach the course through Harvard’s famous case study method. Currently, 26 local alumni teach in the program. The Harvard Business School Club of Charlotte has donated $117,000 (cumulative) to non-profits over the past 6 years.
