John Gledhill is currently Director, Strategic Operations Projects, for SPX Corporation, a Fortune 500 Multi-industry Company headquartered in Ballantyne. In that role, he manages infrastructure projects globally, such as a new valve manufacturing facility in China completed earlier in 2013.
Prior to joining SPX, he was Vice President, Industrial Engineering, Lean & Best Practice for Champion Enterprises of Troy Michigan, which he joined in April of 2005.
Prior to joining Champion, Gledhill worked as a manufacturing consultant on Lean Transformation activities including kaizen events, kanban systems, 5S, Cellular Manufacturing., as well as plant closures, plant and product moves, new plant construction and startup and step change operations analysis.
Gledhill’s experience spans more than 35 years in consulting and management roles with companies such as United Dominion Industries (President, Mueller Steam Specialty, Vice President, Manufacturing), Bain & Co.(consultant), KPMG (manager) and Joan Automotive Industries,( Director of Operations)
Gledhill received his undergraduate degree in engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from Brown University and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University, Graduate School of Business Administration. He has been certified at the fellow level in production & inventory management (CFPIM) from the American Production & Inventory Control Society and received a certified quality engineer (CQE) from the American Society for Quality. He has a Lean Six Sigma Certificate from Villanova University. In 2013 he achieved certification as a Project Management Professional, (PMP), from the Project Management Institute.
